FAQ

FAQs

Q. I didn’t get a receipt email, what should I do?

A. First, check your spam box, sometimes your email provider doesn’t recognize us. If you still can’t find it, send your name and email address to marketing@clevelandwhiskey.com and we will make sure you have what you need.

Q. Will Tom be available to sign bottles?

A. All of the Special Release bottles (Double Oak Wheat Penny 1958) will be signed by Tom Lix. If you want other bottles signed please include that request in the notes during check out. We will do our best to accommodate you.

Q. Can I have someone else pick up my order for me?

A. The short answer is you can, but it will need to be someone who has your confirmation email and is 21. Also, keep in mind that we are limited to selling 4 bottles per person of legal age by the State of Ohio. So, that means the neighborhood can’t have one representative for the group come down and pick up everyone’s order. We need there to be enough people 21+ to accommodate the number of bottles being picked up.

Q. I can’t make it to the distillery on June 17th between 11am-2pm. Is there any other way to pick up my purchase?

A. We may be able to make arrangements during normal distillery hours. Please put a note in the notes section upon checkout or reach out to marketing@clevelandwhiskey.com to request special arrangement. Please keep in mind we are still working with fewer than normal on site team members and we will do our best to accommodate everyone.

Q. The price for some of my favorite products is different than what I pay at my local store… why?

A: Liquor sold in the state of Ohio must be at the same shelf price across the state.  However, cities and counties across the state have different tax rates.  In addition, all transactions in Cuyahoga county are subject to the “Sin Tax”, which is not applicable in other counties.  So the end price may be slightly different depending on where you purchase as a result of local taxes in effect. Please note all pricing on this site includes tax.

Q. Tell me more about the bottle limit… my local liquor store doesn’t have bottle limits, so what is this all about?

A:  The short answer is: permits.  The long answer is: pppppeeeeerrrrrrmmmmmiiiiitttttsssss.  As a distillery, the federal and state permits we have that allow us to distill whiskey also place limits on what we can sell per person, per day.  Liquor stores don’t have these limitations, since they don’t produce any of the products that they sell.  We can’t explain the rational used by the authorities to come up with these rules, but they exist and we need to follow them.

We can legally sell up to four bottles per person, per day.  We can sell and deliver more than four bottles to a single vehicle, so long as there are enough adults at the pick up so that total bottles sold divided by legal adults is less than or equal to 4.

In the event that your order has more than four bottles per adult, we will issue a refund for any bottles over the limit.

We would love to sell you as many bottles as you want, with no limits.  But we would also love to stay in business, so the bottle limit will be strictly followed.

Q. What if my question isn’t answered here?

A. You can call 216-881-8481 and ask for Michael or email marketing@clevelandwhiskey.com
